We aim to be environmentally responsible by using natural and sustainable materials in the production of our products.

Our methods of working and the equipment that we use allows us to reduce our energy usage, reduce/dispose of waste responsibly and minimise our carbon footprint.

When making our candles we mix, pour, cool, wick, label, pack & dispatch each one by hand in our London studio using small batch production.   

​

We spend a lot of time researching before we source to ensure that all our materials and methods are sustainable and environmentally friendly.  

 

Wax:  We will only use 100% natural plant waxes.  Our candles are currently made of 100% pure soy wax.  A product of the soya-bean plant, our wax is completely natural, biodegradable and free from harmful chemicals such as petroleum oils, carcinogens and other nasty toxins.

 

Essential Oils:  We use 100% high quality essential oils in our blends.  Essential oils are the fragrant principle of a plant.  The chemical component that gives a plant its characteristics fragrance.

Sunrise & High Tides - Limonene, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol

Rockpools & Candy Stalls - Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol

Farewells & Carousels - Limonene, Linalool

 

Natural Wicks:  We use unbleached, self-trimming candle wicks made from cotton entwined with a thread of paper. The core of this wick has a supportive external jacket which is designed to eliminate soot and minimise mushrooming.

 

As our wicks are made from natural materials, with no added nasties to help them light, it may take a few seconds to get them to ‘catch’, but once lit they are beautiful & non-toxic.

Glass Vases:  We make our candles in 20cl and 30cl vases.  To minimise waste we would ask that when your candle is fully finished you clean and then place the glass vase in your recycling.  We also ask you to upcyle your gift box (see our Recycle / Upcycle).

Labelling, Packaging & Postage:   We are environmentally conscious when sourcing all materials involved in our labelling, packaging & postage.  We make every effort to only use recycled or recyclable materials and constantly review our methods to ensure we are as efficient as possible in minimising our carbon footprint and keeping our products up to date.
